FKEP USU, September 28, 2026 — The Faculty of Nursing, Universitas Sumatera Utara, held an Orientation for New Lecturers on Monday, September 28, 2026, starting at 10.00 WIB at the Meeting Room of the Faculty of Nursing USU. The orientation was organized based on the Invitation Letter of the Dean of the Faculty of Nursing USU Number 2616/UN5.2.13.D/OT.02.03/2026 dated September 27, 2026, as an official step in welcoming and providing orientation on academic governance within the faculty.

The orientation was directly conducted by the leadership of the Faculty of Nursing USU to welcome Indah Septiani Pasaribu, S.Kep., Ners., M.Kep., who was officially transferred to a lecturer position at Universitas Sumatera Utara effective September 1, 2026. This placement decision refers to the Decree of the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia Number 21230/M/KPT.KP/2026, under which she was assigned to carry out the Three Pillars of Higher Education within the Department of Medical-Surgical Nursing (KMB).

The orientation was led directly by the Vice Dean for Administration, Finance, Human Resources, and Academic Infrastructure of the Faculty of Nursing USU, Dr. Wardiyah Daulay, S.Kep., Ns., M.Kep., and was attended by the full faculty leadership and academic management teams. The leadership representatives present included the Vice Deans, Head of the Undergraduate Program in Nursing, Head and Secretary of the Department of Medical-Surgical Nursing, Head of the Administrative Office, and Manager of Administration, Finance, Human Resources, and Academic Infrastructure.

During the activity, the new lecturer received orientation materials covering the duties and functions of lecturers, academic governance, implementation of the Three Pillars of Higher Education, and an introduction to the Faculty of Nursing USU work environment. The organization of this orientation by the faculty leadership is closely related to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 on Quality Education through strengthening educator capacity, as well as SDG 3 on Good Health and Well-being through improving the quality of nursing education.

Through guidance and synergy with the faculty leadership, the learning and research processes in the Department of Medical-Surgical Nursing – Fundamentals are expected to be carried out effectively and in a focused manner. Strengthening human resources is part of the strategic efforts of the Faculty of Nursing USU to continuously improve academic performance in order to produce professional and competitive health workers.
