Faculty of Nursing, September 7, 2026 — The Rector of Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) officially issued Rector's Decree Number 4068/UN5.1.R/SK/HK.03/2026 concerning the appointment of the Head of the Administrative Office and Managers within the Faculty of Nursing at USU.

The appointments are effective from September 1, 2026, to September 1, 2027, as part of a strategic effort to strengthen the efficiency of governance and institutional effectiveness within the faculty.

Under the new organizational structure, Suriawan Harahap, S.T., has been appointed as Head of the Administrative Office. Meanwhile, the managerial positions are held by Jefri Irmanda, S.K.M. (Manager of Education, Student Affairs, and Alumni Affairs), Saipul Bahri Tanjung, S.Kep., Ners. (Manager of Administration, Finance, Human Resources, and Academic Infrastructure), and Jenny Marlindawani Purba, S.Kp., MNS., Ph.D. (Manager of Research, Community Service, Cooperation, and Internationalization).

The restructuring of the governance structure was followed by the issuance of Rector's Decree Number 4014/UN5.1.R/SK/HK.03/2026 (Decree 2) concerning the dismissal of Heads of Sections and Heads of Subsections at the Faculty of Nursing USU.

The decree covers the completion of duties of Suriawan Harahap, S.T. (Head of the Administration Section), Jefri Irmanda, S.K.M. (Head of the Academic Subsection), Maria Elfida, S.T., M.Kom. (Head of the Personnel and Finance Subsection), Rosalin Darmayanti Ginting, S.E. (Head of the General Affairs and Equipment Subsection), and Sry. Yenni Br. Tarigan, S.E. (Head of the Research, Community Service, and Cooperation Subsection).

The restructuring also included the dismissal of the Dean's Expert Staff through Rector's Decree Number 3989/UN5.1.R/SK/HK.03/2026, with the delivery of all decrees facilitated by the Directorate of Human Resources USU through Letter Number 23688/UN5/Dir/DitSDM/KP/2026 dated September 7, 2026.

This institutional governance update directly supports the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions through the establishment of a transparent, accountable, and efficient higher education administrative system. In addition, strengthening managerial functions also supports SDG 4: Quality Education and SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being by ensuring that nursing education and research are carried out optimally.
