Faculty of Nursing USU, September 7, 2026 — The Faculty of Nursing, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), held a Knowledge-Based Economy (KBE) proposal presentation meeting on Monday, September 7, 2026, starting at 13.00 WIB until completion, at the Meeting Room of the Faculty of Nursing USU.

This strategic meeting was held as a direct follow-up to the results of the KBE proposal preparation coordination meeting held on September 3, 2026.
The presentation meeting was held based on the official invitation letter from the Dean of the Faculty of Nursing USU, Dr. Dudut Tanjung, S.Kp., M.Kep., Sp.KMB, Number 2409/UN5.2.13.D/OT.02.03/2026 dated September 5, 2026. Through this agenda, each department within the faculty was required to present its KBE development proposal to align research and academic directions.
The activity involved the faculty leadership as a whole, including the Vice Deans for Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, and Alumni Affairs; Administration, Finance, Human Resources, and Assets; as well as Research, Community Service, Cooperation, and Internationalization.
In addition, representatives of the leadership of the Department of Medical-Surgical and Fundamental Nursing, the Department of Mental Health and Community Nursing, and the Department of Maternity and Child Nursing, as well as the Research Manager, were also invited.
The Knowledge-Based Economy (KBE) development initiative in the nursing sector supports the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and SDG 4 (Quality Education) through strengthening innovation in nursing science and education. In addition, knowledge-based economic transformation also supports SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) by encouraging applied nursing research outcomes that have intellectual and economic added value.
This cross-departmental collaborative effort is expected to produce comprehensive KBE proposals, strengthen the faculty's academic ecosystem, and make a tangible contribution to the development of community health services.
