Medan, August 4, 2026 — The Faculty of Nursing at Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) welcomed a visit from Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Kesehatan Samarinda (STIKSAM), under the Kagama East Kalimantan Foundation, as part of efforts to strengthen the implementation of Key Performance Indicators (IKU) for higher education institutions and improve the quality of institutional governance that is transparent, accountable, and integrity-driven. Held on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. Western Indonesia Time (WIB) in the Meeting Room of the Faculty of Nursing at USU, the visit served as a platform for exchanging experiences and learning about best practices in higher education management.

The STIKSAM delegation consisted of five representatives: the Chairperson of STIKSAM, the Head of the STIKSAM Quality Assurance Agency, the Head of the Professional Pharmacy Study Program, the Secretary of the Bachelor’s Degree Program in Pharmacy, and the Secretary of the Diploma Program in Pharmacy. The delegation was welcomed by the leadership of the Faculty of Nursing at USU, together with representatives from the faculty, study programs, laboratories, and administrative offices. The involvement of various institutional units supported a comprehensive discussion on strengthening quality assurance systems, academic services, and organizational governance.
Through presentations and discussions, the Faculty of Nursing at USU shared its experience and strategies for implementing the 10th Key Performance Indicator (IKU 10) for higher education institutions, as well as developing an Integrity Zone toward achieving WBK and WBBM status. The meeting provided STIKSAM with an overview of governance practices that support institutional performance improvement, strengthen a culture of integrity in the workplace, and deliver professional and quality-oriented higher education services.

The visit also contributes to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, through efforts to improve the quality and governance of higher education; SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, through the strengthening of transparent, accountable, and integrity-driven institutions; and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, through cooperation and the exchange of best practices among higher education institutions. Through this initiative, the Faculty of Nursing at USU and STIKSAM are committed to strengthening institutional networks to promote continuous improvements in the quality of higher education services.
