Faculty of Nursing USU Hall, September 18, 2026 — Dr. Dudut Tanjung, S.Kp., M.Kep., Sp.KMB, was officially inaugurated as Chairperson of the Association of Indonesian Nursing Education Institutions (AIPNI) Regional II North Sumatra for the 2026–2030 period during the General Members' Meeting (RUA) held on Friday, September 18, 2026, at the Hall of the Faculty of Nursing, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU). The inauguration was officially conducted by the Head of Organization, Institutional Affairs, and Public Relations of the AIPNI Central Executive Board, Prof. Dr. Hasinuddin, S.Kep., Ns., M.Kep., based on the Minutes of Inauguration Number 010/AIPNI-SUMUT/VIII/2026.
The series of activities of the AIPNI Regional II North Sumatra General Members' Meeting began with Plenary Sessions 1 through 3, which determined the RUA agenda schedule and elected the RUA leadership chaired by Johansen, S.Kep., Ns., M.Kep., PhD. During the accountability plenary session, the RUA forum officially accepted the Accountability Report of the AIPNI Regional II North Sumatra Management Board for the 2022–2026 Period and declared the management board for that period dissolved before proceeding to the determination of the new leadership and work program.
In Plenary Session 4, the RUA agreed on the Development of the AIPNI Regional II North Sumatra Work Program for the 2026–2030 Period, covering seven strategic areas. The seven areas consist of Organization; Curriculum; Law, Policy, and Education Standards; Research, Community Service, and Publication; Domestic and International Cooperation; Competency Examination and Graduate Empowerment; and Quality Assurance.
The formulation of the work program and strengthening of standards for nursing education institutions are closely related to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education through quality assurance of curricula and nursing competency examination standards. In addition, research development, community service, and inter-institutional cooperation programs also support SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being by producing competent professional nurses, as well as SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals through collaboration among higher education institutions for nursing education throughout North Sumatra.
Through this inauguration, Dr. Dudut Tanjung is committed to carrying out his duties and responsibilities as Chairperson of AIPNI Regional II North Sumatra for the next four-year term from the date of appointment, with integrity, professionalism, and dedication. The synergy among all nursing education institutions under the new management board is expected to advance the quality of nursing education sustainably in the North Sumatra region.
