History
1999
The Faculty of Nursing USU was established by opening the Nursing Science Study Program at the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Sumatera Utara, through the Directorate General of Higher Education of the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia on January 7, 1999.
2009
After going through a significant process for 11 years, on June 23, 2009, the Nursing Science Study Program of the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Sumatera Utara, based on the Decree of the Rector of USU number 1221/H5.1.R/SK/SDM/2009, became the Faculty of Nursing, Universitas Sumatera Utara.
2011
The Master of Nursing Science Study Program was established based on the Decree of the USU Chancellor Number 1008/H5.1.R/SK/PRS/2011 Dated April 05, 2011.

- Organizing quality education to produce Diplomas, Nurses, and Masters in Nursing with excellent holistic caring capable of applying knowledge based on scientific studies, morals, and conscience. Creating a conducive academic atmosphere and providing quality services.
- Nursing science and technology are being developed to produce studies that support the application of holistic caring.
- Implement nursing science and technology to solve health problems in the community through community service activities.
- Establish domestic and foreign partnerships in the health sector with various domestic and foreign educational institutions.
