After successfully earning a Corruption-Free Integrity Zone (ZIBK) certificate in 2022, the Faculty of Nursing at the Universitas Sumatera Utara continues to strive to improve services to users of the faculty's services.

Of course, the faculty, which is a forum for producing nursing personnel who will later work in various hospitals, health centers, and other health facilities, needs input from various parties to improve its services to users such as students, alumni, parents, hospitals, and the wider community.

Therefore, on Monday (24/6), the Faculty of Nursing of the Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), led by Dudut Tanjung, S.Kp., M.Kep., Sp.KMB as dean, held a Public Communication Forum in the faculty hall. Five elements attended: students, parents of students, alumni, lecturers, experts, and mass media.

The Chairperson of the Committee, Ns Nurbaiti S. Kep, M. Biomed, revealed that the public communication forum that was held was mandated in the Regulation of the Minister of Administrative Reform and Bureaucratic Reform of the Republic of Indonesia No.25 of 2009 concerning Public Services, in this case, public services at the Faculty of Nursing.

“To improve services in this faculty, an assessment is needed, as well as control from the user community, such as students, alumni, parents, and hospitals that use graduates of the Faculty of Nursing. That's why we carry out this activity,” explained Nurbaiti.

She continued that participants who attended the activity would discuss how to improve the quality of existing services from the Faculty of Nursing. “We need input from service users to improve the quality of service at the Faculty of Nursing,” she said.

Through this public communication activity, he continued, we evaluate how the user community can feel the nursing service process in this faculty. So that we can get input from participants to make improvements if there is something that is considered lacking in the USU Faculty of Nursing, “he said, then added that the activity presented Public Policy expert Prof. Warjio, PhD and Director of the USU Center For Health Politics And Management (UCHPOLM) Dr. Drs. While the Dean of the USU Faculty of Nursing Dudut Tanjung, S.Kp., M.Kep., Sp.KMB, accompanied by the Chairperson of PEKPPP Ismayadi, S.Kep., Ns, M.Kes, added that the communication forum that was held was still related to the Monitoring and Evaluation of Public Service Performance (PEKPPP).
“We realize that the USU Faculty of Nursing is one of the institutions that serve the public, namely, students. We know that the public service we provide is the Tridarma of higher education, namely, how to teach, research, and community service by involving students. The setting is how to teach in the classroom, in the laboratory, and in the hospital by providing the best service according to the needs of our users, the main students. And also parents and the community,” he explained.

This PEKPPP, continued Dudut, is an evaluation organized by the Indonesian Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education. “We have four campuses throughout Indonesia, and we are assigned to be one of those assessed to get this public service evaluation,” he concluded.
