For the development of the USU Faculty of Nursing, collaboration with foreign institutions and universities continues to be explored. Throughout 2017, two universities in Thailand, namely Khon Kaen University and Prince of Songkla University, have established collaborations. This collaboration has been explored since July 2017 with a visit to Khon Kaen University and Prince of Songkla University in October 2017. Both visits eventually led to an agreement (Memorandum of Understanding) between the Faculty of Nursing of the two universities and the USU Faculty of Nursing. The form of collaboration established is collaboration in research, student exchanges, visiting students, lecturer training, and student thesis guidance where lecturers from both universities will become co-advisors to help improve the quality of research of Master's program in Nursing students.
Cooperation in the form of Japanese language training and departure of USU Faculty of Nursing alumni to work in Japan is also being explored in collaboration with one of the institutions in Japan. This collaboration is expected to create employment opportunities for alumni and also open up opportunities to gain different experiences with clinical practice in the country. Cooperation with universities and abroad will continue to be explored and it is possible that the form of cooperation and who will be invited to cooperate will be increasingly wide open, given the development needs of the Faculty and University.
