The WCU session with Prof. Dr. Waraporn Kongsuwan, titled "Beyond the Algorithm: Why AI Cannot Replace the Art of Nursing," will take place on 31 July 2026 via Zoom. The session will examine the growing role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in nursing practice while highlighting that the human dimensions of nursing—including compassion, empathy, therapeutic communication, and clinical decision-making—remain essential aspects of patient care that cannot be fully replicated by technology.

The discussion will provide participants with insights into how AI can support healthcare delivery by improving efficiency, assisting with data analysis, and enhancing clinical workflows. At the same time, it will underscore the importance of preserving the art of nursing, where interpersonal relationships, ethical considerations, emotional intelligence, and professional judgment continue to play a central role in delivering holistic, patient-centered care.

Through this session, participants are expected to gain a deeper understanding of the opportunities and limitations of AI in healthcare, as well as the enduring value of nursing professionals in ensuring high-quality and compassionate patient care. The event also serves as a platform for academic exchange on emerging healthcare technologies and their implications for the future of nursing education and practice.
